ENG MANGWENGWENDE ON THE ZIM CRISIS!
(Picture is of Mr Munyaradzi Gwisai Referred to in letter)
I saw the article. I am impressed by your energy and passion for your former countrymen. You have not allowed your current life of comfort and luxury to get you to forget the oppressed masses. However I strongly believe the time for debate is now past. Only actions now count. Actions speak louder than words.
When confronted with a situation a person has two action options – fight or flight. Unfortunately by their actions most Zimbabweans would rather opt for the flight or exit option rather than to fight for their rights. People just find a way to cope with the situation rather to take a stand to defend principles of good governance and morality. That is why Zimbabwe is bleeding.
Even the so called opposition, which in my opinion died the day Munyaradzi Gwisai was expelled, has, as I predicted before, now shown their true colours by their failure to act and joining their ruling party colleagues in simply making hay while the sun shines. Their priority is to extend the patronage system, hence pre-occupation with elections next June when people cannot even buy a coke and bun for a simple pauper’s lunch.
The useless senate is now agreed by the parties to accommodate themselves at the feeding trough. There was never an ideological difference between the parties, just a fight for leadership. And that leadership fight does nothing to help the cause of the poor and oppressed majority.
So when you do not see me joining in the debates these days it is not because I am not following what people are saying but it is because II am now focusing on what I am doing to help the masses in the hope that more and more of us will start to take a stand and draw the line against the racism, corruption and mismanagement that has destroyed the nation.
With best regards
